INGREDIENTS (6 apple pie roses)
1 medium apple
2-3 sheets ready-made puff pastry
3 tablespoons apricot jam
cinnamon
1 lemon

DIRECTIONS
Roll out puff pastry until fairly thin. Cut into strips 3-4 inches wide. Slice apples thinly. Put into a bowl with lemon juice to prevent browning. Zap in microwave for 3 minutes or until pliable. Do not overcook. Arrange apple slices onto pastry. Spread apricot jam and sprinkle on cinnamon. Roll up one side to the other until it forms a rose. Bake in a preheated 170C/340F oven for 45 minutes or until pastry is golden brown and flaky. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.

  1. Those apple roses are too beautiful to eat, Sinichi! But, I can't resist. I hope I'm not impolite, but I'll take 5 please! 🙂

  2. Made these last night, the first time I made them I left the pastry to long and had these huge roses. They were great but took forever to cook through. I am so glad that you are doing yours at about 4 inches. That is much more appropriate. They look delicious. Kudos for another wonderful video.

  3. Oh wow! They turned out to be really beautiful! Whenever I see recipes for pretty things, I feel like they end up being complicated, but your recipe looks really simple! 😀 Definitely gonna try this out one day!

  4. Really great idea! I think maybe you make it look easier than it is, but I'm going to try it. With extra apricot jam..I love it! 🙂

  5. Love it! If you make it again, when you add the cinnamon try adding a dash of nutmeg and allspice! I promise you'll love it! Can't wait to make these! 😀

  6. This is always that awkward moment where you are faced with the difficult decision of refusing to eat something (too beautiful) or just giving in… Wonderful work as always!

  7. thank you so much for sharing!! such an easy and tasty recipe!! not to mention GORGEOUS! I'm making them for my hubby now!!
