Join Andrew Gordon and John Humphrey as they dive into the offbeat sci‑fi comedy, Paul. Written by and starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (best known for their work in Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz), this cult favorite follows two irreverent British friends on a cross-country road trip who unexpectedly encounter Paul—the wise-cracking, otherworldly visitor with a penchant for mischief, voiced by Seth Rogen (celebrated for his roles in Superbad and Pineapple Express).
In this zany adventure, Simon Pegg’s character brings his signature charm and wit as he navigates bizarre encounters alongside Nick Frost’s lovable everyman persona. The film also features standout appearances by Jason Bateman (known for Arrested Development and Ozark), Jo Lo Truglio (from 30 Rock), Bill Hader (famed for Saturday Night Live and Barry), as well as the legendary Sigourney Weaver (the iconic star of Alien) and Blythe Danner (celebrated for her roles in Meet the Parents).
Andrew & John break down every hilarious and unforgettable moment—from Paul’s jaw-dropping introduction and the wild road trip escapades to the film’s clever meta-references and satirical nods to classic sci‑fi tropes. Whether you’re a longtime fan or discovering this quirky gem for the first time, join us for an in‑depth reaction and review that captures all the humor and heart of Paul!

  2. I just realized after watching this movie 10+ times….. @44:08 that’s a very young “Todd” aka Jesse Plemons from breaking bad next to David Koechner.

  3. Okay, movies about aliens that came out when I was young. E.T, flight of the navigator, the last star fighter, battle beyond the stars and all the original Star Trek movies (the even numbers are good, the odd ones not so much). Also, no Aliens but space related, Space Camp.

  4. I was always a bit disappointed that they didn't show Ruth struggling with gaining depth perception. The brain would struggle to understand

  5. Favorite sci fi comedy to this day! It’s just shot so well and written well and it has a certain tone that I captures and it captures it well! lol but yeah great movie! Simon pegg nick frost are just so good and honestly seth rogen voice actor is always pretty damn good! Either way this is just a fun ride beginning to end! Thanks for this

  6. "There is a Jane Seymour." "Yes, there is, Smallville & Wedding Crashers." WTF, how about her role as one of the FINEST Bond girls… Solitaire in 1973's Live and Let Die!❤

  7. I swear i always say the people who say aliens havent been to earth must be mentally retarded, we literally walk past millions of ants n never notice or see them n even when your in the ocean your passing millions of fish n dont see them n yet people really try n say that bc we havent had solid evidence or proof of aliens visiting us that means they havent which is quite literally retarded thing to say

  8. Definitely watch Close Encounters it’s really good and I think yall should watch A fire in the sky! Also really good

  9. In the movie DUEL. Yes the truck went off the mountain, but it didn’t explode.
It just leaked oil and fuel like it was bleeding out, slowly dying. Because Spielberg, wanted to make it an actual living thing.

  10. Im sure hes a nice guy but I can't stand Andrew's reactions. Yes he has a wealth of knowlege but it comes across as annoying. "He's wearing shoes, that reminds me of ____ where the actor also wore shoes." His tidbits are pointless observations. I ignore his reactions

  11. I wish this film became a franchise. It's such a great blend of action, sci-fi, and comedy. I don't know what you two are talking about with it not having enough heart and too much raunchiness, though. It had all the heart it needed and you can never have too much raunchiness.

  12. If I had a nickel for every time Seth Rogan played a goofy ahh alien I would be nowhere near rich, but it’s weird that it happened twice

  13. The Lorenzo's Oil joke is delightful, and it's so clearly just for Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, writing the movie. It's not for the audience, it's not a sci-fi reference, it's just a neat little film reference purely for the fun of it.

  14. 11:30 I'm sorry, but to not have the first thing you mention when referencing Jane Seymour's work be Dr Quinn Medicine Woman is criminal… Ya dang whipper snapper! Oh God, I… I'm getting old, aren't I… 😭🤣 I barely remember the show from my childhood, but I remember that I loved watching it with my mom back in the day.

  15. 26:51 The hitting the bird with the RV bit always makes me think of the two crazy versions of that I've experienced. I currently drive a 2019 WRX and my coworker used to joke often about the hood scoop being "big enough to swallow a bird…" At least we thought it was just a joke until it actually happened! Luckily I saw it happen, when it could really have gone unnoticed. it was in the fall here in New England, so when I saw this lil brown thing come flying out of the trees and into the scoop I thought "Was that a leaf? (Happens pretty often) I don't think it looked like it was moving like a leaf in the wind… Was it?… Was it a little brown bird?!" I pulled into my driveway (I was on my and less than a mile from home when it happened) and opened the hood and there the poor little thing's body was lying on the intercooler… didn't damage the intercooler, because it was so small and light and it had likely struck one of the thin vertical supports inside the scoop, which took the brunt of the fairly small amount of force without being damaged. Was glad I saw it so that it didn't just cook on the intercooler and smell bad or even potentially cause a fire due to burning feathers. The other one was when I was on a motorcycle and had a hummingbird strike me in the left side of my chest. Fortunately I was wearing my leather vest at the time, so I barely felt it. I saw it coming at the very last moment and reflexively let go of the left handle bar and tried to roll my shoulder rearward to lessen the impact, so it was more of a ricochet than a straight on hit, but I know there's no way that poor tiny fragile bird survived that impact. They're so smol! I was astonished I'd managed to see it coming and react at all… I felt especially bad since both were small cute species of bird…
