DIY Christmas/Holiday Sugar Cookie Decorating Plushie Tutorial 🎄⛄❤️| Easy and Cute Felt Food Craft

hi guys for this video i’m going to show you how to make a felt christmas sugar cookie decorating kit and it’s actually comprised of quite a few different fel crafts and plushies so i’m going to show you how to make three different sugar cookies there’s one of a christmas tree snowman and then candy cane and all three of these actually look the same on the back they’re all just a plain antique white color like this kind of like a real sugar cookie where it’s just kind of like a cookie color on the back and then on the front it has the icing and all the decorations so those are the three sugar cookies and then i’m also going to show you how to make some sugar cookie dough which is this piece and i think this piece is so cool because you can actually take these pieces out like this and then you can also put them back in so i thought that was really cool and fun and then the last thing i’m going to show you how to make is a piping bag so that’s this plushie right here and then this is the back so i decorated it with some lace ribbon some christmas holiday ribbon up here glued a little tree just to give it more of a holiday feel to it and that’s how it turned out so i made a white one a red one and then also a green one since those were the main icing colors used on the sugar cookie plushies the pattern for these plushies and fell crafts can be found down below in the description box so if you are interested in making these yourself definitely be sure to go check out that link in this tutorial i’m going to show you how to make this version of the christmas tree snowman and candy cane plushie but you can decorate yours however you want as you can see i put ribbon on the top of these plushies so you can make them into a christmas ornament and hang them up on your tree or hang them up in your house but if you don’t want to add ribbon onto your plushies you most certainly don’t have to and then also i added a lot of different accessories on these plushies such as beads buttons and also safety eyes and again if you don’t want to add those accessories onto your plushies you don’t have to and i actually made these plushies without those accessories just to show you what they look like and that’s these three plushies right here so for the christmas tree i just cut out felt circles and glued them down and then put glitter glue just to add a little sparkle and shine and then on the candy cane i put glitter glue down on all those red stripes and then for the snowman i just glued down felt circles for the eyes and mouth put some glitter glue on the hat and hot glued down a pom-pom and then also i glued down all these felt pieces but if you want to sew them down you most certainly can that is completely up to you and yeah i just tried to make a lot of different versions of these plushies to help inspire you give you ideas on how you can decorate yours so i made all these and then i also made some that were pink as well so i made this cute pink candy cane and then also a pink snowman and then also some pink christmas trees so there’s this one and then also this one as well so you can try out different colors as well i’m going to show you guys how to make the sugar cookie plushies first and i’m going to start off with the christmas tree plushie and to make this one the first thing you’re gonna have to do is take these two pieces right here so there’s the one antique white colored piece and then the one piece which is gonna be the color of the icing you want on the plushie and then you’re just gonna place the two pieces right on top of each other like this and then use the fell stitch and just sew all the way around to attach these two pieces together before you can do any sewing the first thing you’re going to have to do is thread it out your needle with some thread that matches the same color as the material that you’re using and just for demonstration purposes i’ll be using a thread color that does not match the material and the only reason i’m doing that is so that’s easier to see the stitches in the video and easier for you guys to learn but when you make yours make sure you use a thread color that matches the material it makes the plushy look so much cleaner and nicer and then also if you don’t already know how to thread a knot your sewing needle it’s actually a really easy thing to do and nothing to worry about and i have a video for it so i’ll link that up on the screen if you go check out and learn how to do it yourself the fill stitch is a really easy stitch to do and all you’re going to do is take your sewing needle and make a stitch through both pieces right around here and then you’re going to pull all the way then you’re going to make a stitch up here just through the antique white piece right where it meets that green piece and then again you’re going to pull all the way and then there you go it’s really that easy and to do it again you’re just going to take your sewing needle and make a stitch right around here pull and then make a stitch up here and pull and i’ll show you that one more time so you’ll make a stitch right around here pull and then make a stitch up here and pull and then you’ll just keep doing that all the way around to attach the green piece onto the antique white piece after you finish using the fell stitch you can turn this piece around and we’re just going to make a few knots on the back just to hold everything in place and to do that you’re going to make a stitch kind of like that you’re going to pull and then you’re going to go through this loop and then you’re going to pull all the way and you’ll just do that a few times so i’ll do one more and then i’ll do another one so you make a stitch pull go through the loop all the way and then you can just take your scissors and cut the thread now i’m going to take this white piece and i’m going to glue it down right here and i’m going to be using tacky glue to glue this piece down next i’m going to sew some beads onto this piece and to do that all you’re going to do is take your sewing needle and make a stitch where you want the bead to go so i’m going to make a stitch right around here and then you’re going to pull all the way then you’re going to take a bead and put it through the sewing needle and then pull the bead all the way down to the plush like that then you’re going to take your sewing needle again and make a stitch right around here and then you’re going to pull all the way now we’re going to take the other antique white piece which is this piece right here and you’re just going to place these two pieces right on top of each other and then use the blanket stitch from about here all the way around up to here and then i’m going to show you how to add the ribbon onto your plush sheet if you would like to add that onto yours the blanket stitch is actually another really easy stitch to do and all you’re going to do is pull back the front piece like this take your sewing needle and make a stitch like that pull all the way then take this piece and put it back where it was so you can hide that knot inside the plushie then the next stitch you make is going to go through both pieces and it’s going to come back through where you made that first stitch so like this so see how it’s coming through right around where this thread is and then you’re going to pull but before pulling all the way you’re going to take your sewing needle and go through this loop then you’re going to pull all the way and there you go so to do that again you’ll make a stitch pull go through this loop pull all the way and then to do that again make a stitch pull go through the loop pull all the way and i’ll show you that one more time so you make a stitch pull go through the loop pull all the way as you can see i finished using the blanket stitch from here all the way around to here and now i’m going to show you how to add ribbon onto the top of your plushie and this step is completely optional so if you don’t want to add ribbon onto your plushie you don’t have to but if you do want to add ribbon onto your plushie what you’re going to do is take a piece of ribbon so here’s some ribbon right here and then you’re going to fold it around like this and then what i like to do is to take a piece of tape just to hold the ribbon in place like that and then i’m going to cut off the excess tape right here just like that you can move that out of the way and then you’re going to take the ribbon and you’re going to put it in between the plushie just like that then you’re going to take your sewing needle and make a stitch through both pieces of material and also the ribbon just like this then you’re gonna pull but don’t pull all the way and you’re gonna make another stitch just through the ribbon like this you’re going to pull go through that loop and then you’re going to pull all the way and there you go so i’ll show you that again so you’ll make a stitch through all the pieces you’ll pull make a stitch just through the ribbon like that pull go through the loop then pull all the way then you’ll keep using the blanket stitch over here so you’ll make a stitch go through the loop pull all the way just like that and then before you sew the plush closed we’re going to be filling it up with some fiberfill stuffing after you finish filling up the plush with stuffing you’re going to continue using the blanket stitch and sew this open and closed and then you’re going to make a few knots at the end just to hold everything in place next i’m going to show you guys how to make the snowman sugar cookie plushie which is this guy right here and to make this plushie the first thing you’re going to have to do is take one of those antique white circles and the white circle so that’s these two pieces right here and you’re just going to place them right on top of each other just like this and you’re going to use the fell stitch and just sew all the way around to attach the white piece onto the antique white piece and just a reminder the fell stitch is the exact same stitch that was used previously on the christmas tree plushie it was that stitch that was used to sew the green piece onto the antique white piece the next thing you’re going to do is take the template piece for that white piece right here and you’re just going to place it right on top of the white piece like this and these two dots right here are actually for the eyes so you’re going to take a marker and just press down on each of those dots so that the marker will bleed through onto the two pieces of felt and just to let you know i’m going to be using a sharpie marker and just so you know the marker will probably bleed through onto your work surface so make sure you put down a poster board or some pieces of paper just so you don’t get any marker stains on your table these next few steps are only needed if you’re going to be adding black plastic safety eyes on your plushie so if you are not going to be adding them onto your plushie you can skip these next few steps but if you are going to be adding them onto your plushie the first thing you’re going to do is take your scissors and make a small cut where each of these dots are on the white piece and then also small cuts on each of these dots on the antique white piece after you finish cutting the small holes on each of those dots you can now attach the black plastic safety eyes and to do that you’re going to take one of the eyes and just put it through the hole like that turn it around take one of the backings and then just press it on just like that and then you’ll do the exact same thing for the other eye next we’re going to glue down the hat and the nose so we’re just going to glue down this piece right up here and then also this piece right around [Music] here and just so you know i’m going to be using tacky glue to glue these pieces down now i’m going to sew some pearl beads right below the bottom of the hat right here next i’m going to sew this bigger white bead right on the top of the hat next i’m going to sew four small buttons down here is the mouth and i’m going to be using white buttons for demonstration purposes in this video because i tried filming this clip with the black buttons and it was so hard to see on the camera and i find the white buttons a lot easier to see so i’m going to try this again with the white button because i want to make this as easy as possible to see on the camera so you can learn how to do it so all you’re going to do is place the button down where you want to be on the plushie and then you’re going to take your sewing needle and make a stitch through one of those holes so you’re just going to make a stitch through one of the holes like this and then you’re going to make a stitch through the other hole and pull all the way and then just to make it extra secure i’m just going to do that again so i’m going to make another stitch through that first hole like this and pull all the way and then i’ll make another stitch through that second hole and again pull all the way and then you’re just going to sew on the other three buttons the exact same way and just a reminder like i said in the beginning of this video if you don’t want to add all these accessories on your plushie you most certainly don’t have to so if you don’t want to add buttons safety eyes or beads onto your plushie you don’t have to and instead you could just cut out pieces of felt and then sew or glue them on instead now we’re going to take the other antique white circle and then place the two pieces right on top of each other then use the blanket stitch from about here all the way around to about there so you’re going to leave an opening and just a reminder the blanket stitch is the exact same stitch that was used around the christmas tree plushie so that stitch that was used around here and then just like the christmas tree plushie if you would like to add a piece of ribbon on the top of your snowman plushie you most certainly can this next step is optional but if you decorated your snowman plushie the exact same way i decorated mine with all the beads the safety eyes and the buttons i recommend adding some poly pellets into your plushie which are weighted stuffing beads and the reason for that is because adding all these accessories onto your plushie makes it a bit top-heavy so if you have it hanging up with the ribbon it’s going to be a bit top-heavy this way and then if you have it lying down flat it’s going to be a bit top heavy this way so adding the weighted stuffing beads into the plushie helps counteract that and help it lay flat next i’m going to fill the plushie up with some fiberfill stuffing and then continue using the blanket stitch to sew this open and closed and make a few knots at the end just to hold everything in place now i’m going to show you how to make the candy cane sugar cookie plushie and to make this one you’re going to first take one of those antique white pieces and the white piece so that’s these two pieces right here and you’re just going to place them right on top of each other like this and then use the fell stitch and just sew all the way around to attach the white piece onto the antique white piece now that i finished sewing the white piece onto the antique white piece i’m now going to glue those three red stripes onto the plushie so that’s this piece right here this one and then also this one and i’m just going to glue all three of those pieces down using tacky glue next i’m going to sew some beads onto this piece but if you don’t want any beads on your plushie you most certainly don’t need to sew any on and then just like the other two sugar cookie plushies you’re going to take the second antique white piece and place it right below the piece you just decorated then use the blanket stitch and sew from about here all the way around to here fill the plush up with stuffing and then sew it shut and make a few knots to hold everything in place and then of course if you want you could add some ribbon up on the top now i’m going to show you guys how to make the sugar cookie dough felt craft and the reason i’m calling this a felt craft instead of a plushie is because there’s no stuffing added to this it is just felt sewn together and the first thing you’re going to do to make this is cut out these two pieces right here so these are two pieces that look exactly the same as each other and you’re just going to place them right on top of each other like this and then you’re going to use the blanket stitch and just sew all these openings together so around the snowman openings around the candy cane openings and then also around the christmas tree ones as well and then you’ll also use the blanket stitch all the way around the perimeter of the sugar cookie dough as well and just a reminder the blanket stitch is the exact same stitch that was used around all three of those sugar cookies that i showed previously so it was that stitch that was used around here before i start sewing i just want to show you how i cut out these two pieces using my pattern so this is the pattern piece you’ll get when you print it out and i cut it out around the outer parts of the black lines so when i cut it out this is what it looked like and since i cut it out around the outer parts of the black lines you’ll see the black line around the perimeter of the piece but for all these inner pieces you’re not going to see the black line since you’re going to be cutting that part out and i just wanted to show you this so you can do the exact same thing i did once you’re done sewing these two pieces together this is what it’s going to look like and then you’re going to cut out four of the christmas tree pieces so four of these pieces right here and then you’re going to cut out four of the candy cane pieces so four of these and lastly you’re going to cut out four of the circle pieces so four of these and then you’re going to take two of each of these pieces you’re going to place them on top of each other and then use the blanket stitch and just sew all the way around and then make a few knots at the end just to hold everything in place and by doing that you’ll end up with two candy canes two christmas trees and two circles which is just enough pieces for this one right here so you’ll have the two circles the two candy canes and the two christmas trees now i’m going to show you guys how to make the piping bag plushie and to make this the first thing you’re going to do is take these two pieces right here and you’re going to use the back stitch along here to sew them together and to do that you’re going to take the gray piece and you’re going to place it right here like that and then you’re going to take your sewing needle and make a stitch through both pieces right around here and you’re going to pull all the way then you’re going to make a stitch like this and again pull all the way then you’ll make a stitch back where you made that first stitch hence why it’s called the back stitch pull all the way and there you go so to do that again you’ll make a stitch over here like this you’ll pull and then go back where you made that other stitch and pull and then you’re going to keep just wrapping this gray piece around and keep using the back stitch so you’ll make another stitch like this pull then back here and pull and then i like to take the ends of these two pieces and just place them right on top of each other like this and then take a pin and just hold them in place after you finish sewing along here the next thing you’re going to do is take this piece and fold it around like this so make sure this is the inside of the plushie the part that doesn’t look nice and then you’re going to then continue using the back stitch from here all the way up to here at this point we’re going to turn this piece inside out now we’re going to use the running stitch all the way around the top of this piece and the running stitch is another really easy stitch to do and all you’re going to do is take your sewing needle and make a stitch like this pull all the way then make another stitch over here like that and pull and then make another one over here another one [Music] like this and you’re going to just keep doing that all the way around and then if you want to do multiple stitches at once you can take your sewing needle and make a stitch like this and then back up like that back down back up kind of like this and then you can pull it to make all those stitches at once now we’re going to fill the plush up with some fiberfill stuffing now that the plush is full of stuffing you’re going to take the thread and you’re going to pull it real tight to bunch the material up and then you’re going to make a few knots just to hold everything in place once you get to this point you can put this piece over to the side for now and then you’re going to take this piece right here and you’re going to fold it in half just like this and then use the back stitch from here all the way up to here and make a few knots at the end just to hold everything in place then you’re going to take this piece and turn it inside out and i’m going to take that one dowel again which i’d gotten in a bag of stuffing that i bought but if you don’t have a window you could use something similar like a pencil but you’ll turn it inside out just like that and then you’re going to take the piece that you sewed together previously and you’re going to see there’s a little hole on the top right there and you’re going to take this piece and line it up right where that hole is and then i’m going to take the wooden dowel and just push it into the plushie just like that and also i like to line up the seam on the top of the bag with the bottom of the bag so it makes just one line and once you’re happy with how it looks you’re going to take your sewing needle and make a few stitches through the bottom of the bag and the top of the bag just to hold them together so you’ll take your sewing needle and just make a stitch going through like that and you’ll just make a few stitches like that back and forth so i’ll make another one over here another one over there [Music] and i’ll do one more and then you’ll just make a few knots right here so now we’re done sewing the plushie together but i’m going to glue on some extra accessories to make the plushie more cute so the first thing i’m going to glue on is the wrap that goes around the bag and that’s this piece right here so we’re going to roll this over to the back where the seam is and we’re going to glue this right around here so just glue it right there and then i’m going to finish wrapping this around the piping bag just like that and then i’m going to use a little more hot glue right where that christmas tree is going to go and glue this red piece down onto the piping bag next i’m going to glue it on some lace ribbon along the top and also the bottom of this red piece and i’m going to glue it down using tacky glue then i’m going to use some hot glue along here to glue this piece down here now i’ll be gluing the little christmas tree onto the front of the piping bag and i’ll be using tacky glue to glue this piece down the last thing i’m going to glue down is this little felt circle and i’m going to hot glue it down right on the tip of the bag right here just so it looks like some icing is coming out and last but certainly not least i’m going to use this really cute holiday ribbon that i got from the dollar tree to tie a bow right here on the plushie you can cut the ends of the ribbon however you would like but i recommend adding a little bit of tacky glue just to prevent the ribbon from frying thank you so much for watching being here and supporting my channel i appreciate it so much if you like this video definitely be sure to go hit
