雨の休日|冷たい雨の日に家にこもって整える1人暮らしの週末 Rainy Day in Japan VLOG

A rainy weekend since morning. The pleasant autumn weather makes you want to go out, so I kept putting off things around the house. They say rainy days are perfect for cleaning
because dust doesn’t fly around as much 🧹 Today I decided to stay home
and make it a day to organize the house. I set the bread dough in the bread maker. While waiting for the dough to be done,
I’ll work through my to-do list. Cleaning supplies I’d just been hoarding, thinking, “I’ll clean someday”… I’m concerned about the stubborn water stains that just won’t come off. I’ll try soaking them in bleach. While it’s soaking,
the cleaning I really should be doing… I’ve just set a new record for neglect. I had no idea it was this dirty. A delicious-looking pizza flyer
I left it out and it left a mark. I was planning to open this after cleaning the kitchen. It’s an unscented, pump-style multi-purpose cream. Hand serum
I bought it as a little treat for myself. It’s light and spreads easily. I’m making lunch. Red turnips, burdock root, and water dropwort. Sautéed with olive oil and salt. Vinegar, sugar, soy sauce. Leave the prosciutto and water dropwort leaves raw. Butter and cake flour. Add cold milk all at once. Salt and pepper.
I made a thick white sauce. The yeast I set aside was still left in the machine… This is the bread dough made without yeast. Place the butter and roll it up. Truffle salt. Bake at 210°C for 15 minutes. Sandwich with white sauce and salmon. Brush with melted butter.
Salt bread complete. (It feels kind of crispy) When baking sweets or bread,
unexpected failures happen 😅 The cabbage was about to burn,
so I added sliced cheese partway through. Wow~ It’s a really delicious recipe. Marinated turnips.
I thought of adding persimmons when plating. Mmm~ Persimmons never disappoint😋 Another place where things are a mess. The stock items, still
left out in the hallway just as I bought them. Today, I’m determined to put them away on the shelf. It helps me see everything I own at once and makes cleaning easier, so in my case,
taking everything out at once is faster. Decide where things go as I put them back. This time I made a point not to pack things in too tightly. This storage case really shows how I usually just shove things in… 😹 Decluttering is important too, huh? I wonder if someone threaded this string through?
It makes me feel a bit guilty every time I take it out. I keep these kinds of bags because I use them often. I’m not confident I’ll ever use them,
but sometimes I find myself in a bind without them, so I can’t throw them away. But paper bags really do come in handy. IKEA bag.
Trying this folding method for the first time. Tucking the handles inside made it look so much neater. A shelf tidied up for the first time in ages. The mikan that arrived.
I opened them at the entrance and just left them there. Newspaper bag.
I wonder how they make it~ It’s cute. Grandma’s small bell peppers. Since I might suddenly need to share some,
I decided to wrap them up ahead of time. I ordered insoles online. They’re for when the insoles in my UGG boots wear out, but I saw them in a magazine
and decided to try them in my oversized loafers. I’ll try them in my sandals too. 🤭 Time for dinner. Soak the rice and glutinous rice in water. Big burdock root. Yuzu. Cut off a generous amount of the core. I’ll make a quick pickle with the core. Salt. Grated daikon radish. Dashi stock packet. Quickly blanch the Chinese cabbage and garlic chives. Sake, mirin, soy sauce. Soy sauce, yuzu peel. Place ginkgo nuts in an envelope and microwave. Wash the yurine (lily bulbs) to remove dirt. Tie the thick fried tofu with chives.
Present-style 🤭 Fill the Chinese cabbage with meat and your favorite vegetables. Secure it with pasta. Steam glutinous rice in a bamboo steamer. Add sake, salt, and kombu seaweed, then steam. Burdock root, like a tree stump. Chicken stock powder, sugar, soy sauce. Coat with potato starch and pan-fry. Add water and steam for 15 minutes. Place the vegetables that couldn’t be rolled underneath. To make it a little more Christmassy. Add the lily bulbs and ginkgo nuts,
steam for another 15 minutes, and it’s done. The pink nigori sake
I’d decided to drink on hot pot day. A steamer basket packed with all my favorites 😋 Beef, water dropwort, and burdock hot pot.
Enjoying all the different flavors and textures. On days I make several dishes,
enjoying different flavors boosts satisfaction🤭 Made a dipping sauce with ground sesame, soy sauce, and sugar. Thick fried tofu in the hot pot.
So delicious, I might get hooked 😋 Hot pot days warm both body and room. My sister found some cat goods and sent them to me. Looks like an advent calendar you fill yourself. I was just craving something sweet after dinner.🤭 Wow, a cat appears. 🐈 I wonder what kind of December this year will bring. The way it peels out of the gummy wrapper is so cute
I just end up eating several. I meant to eat just half,
but I ended up finishing the whole bag. For breakfast and lunch,
I’ll try making a recipe using leftover white sauce and cream cheese. Salt, pepper, and cake flour. Salt. White wine, water. White sauce, anchovy paste, lemon zest, salt. I also stuffed some into bell peppers. Milk, cream cheese. Salmon and Potato Simmered in Cream Cheese.
Looks like you could make all sorts of variations. Avocado Gratin.
Looks like it would go well with drinks. I took a little walk while shopping. Tea tastes especially good when enjoyed outside. It’s a beautiful autumn day with pleasant sunshine and a cool breeze. I’ll buy some cute bread. For a break,
I can’t resist chocolate soft serve. I took a walk from Tokyo Station to Nihonbashi and made a detour to Asakusa via subway. When I come to Asakusa, I always crave menchi katsu. I stopped by a newly opened cafe. Lately, I’ve been getting a lot of coffee business cards (?). It got much colder on the way home.
I got home and immediately soaked in the bath. While walking and making detours,
I ended up eating nothing but snacks. Jujube and ginger. Squeeze yuzu. and pickle it with an equal amount of honey. Even with honey,
adding granulated sugar wasn’t enough. So I added rock sugar. My sister asked me to run an errand for an English picture book. She said I could choose it myself,
so I spent about an hour at the bookstore. I went to Maruzen in Marunouchi,
and the foreign books section was so cute. They even had a Christmas corner.
It was such an exciting space. When I have free time or want to feel excited,
I want to add it to my list of places to visit 🥰 I’m copying wrapping ideas I saw online. There’s a poem in the novel Sayonara Itsuka: “When people die,
some remember being loved,
and some remember loving.” In a review,
I came across the words: “Because loving is something you do yourself, I think you remember having loved.” When I was a child, Christmas was a day for receiving gifts, but seeing my sisters planning Christmas parties and such for the children seemed to be enjoying giving. I remembered the saying
that what you do yourself is what stays in your memory. I let it rest for a day, but, as usual,
I jumped the gun and had tea time. Sweet potato and persimmon bread. Along with some half-eaten potato chips. It was chewy and sticky
with a generous paste filling inside. Mmm~ It’s incredibly delicious. I feel like I’ve eaten this before,
but I can’t quite remember what it is 😅 The hand serum has a scent I love and instantly became a favorite. My favorite scent before bed.
It was a very satisfying day. Thank you for watching until the end.

  4. Hi Nami,
Rain day I become lazy. I just wanted to cozy up to a warm room with a pot of hot tea and read a good book or work on a painting.

Forget about cooking, just reading, painting and listen to the rain dancing on the roof top and having my pot of hot tea.
    Simple life.

This week we celebrating Thanksgiving. 🎉🥂🍾🦃🍗🍺

It is when the first setters that came to America and gave thanks to God for their abundance harvest.

Anyway take care and I will see you next week and stay warm.

    A lazy man of contentment.

The way you used to scissor to crack the ginkgo nut is a good idea. I always use a heavy hammer.
I sometimes don’t know my own strength and whoops, mashed ginkgo nut I use it to put into my rice porridge with a couple of other ingredients, like diced shiitake mushrooms dried scallops pieces and sliced fresh fish and fresh shrimp and crack a egg to cook for a few minutes. It depends how you like your eggs to be. Season with a little white pepper, oyster sauce, soy sauce, and roasted sesame old.
Top everything off with diced spring onions and chopped cilantro. Give it a try you might like it. 👍

The rain helps me to think and create.😊
Take care see you next weekend.

  5. Apparently, the hoarding of bags isn’t a uniquely American thing! 😂 I too have trouble getting rid of a perfectly good bag because “I might need it someday” LOL!
    The struggle is real!

ALSO — I would love to see an update video sometime to share how the pickled lemon peel is coming along. That’s looks like a DELICIOUS garnish, and so much fun to make!

  8. Hey Nami-san ☀️
I dip a paper towel in white vinegar and wrap the towel around the glass inside and outside. I treat the shower glass doors by spraying them and placing a flat paper towel and sparying it again till it is soaking wet in diluted vinegar. The ratio varies. Also the bottom of the sink head I wtap it eith a paper towel and the shower head I submerge in a plastic bag and leave it for 30mins or longer. It comes out looking new. Try it 👍🏻
Thanks for the delicious food. And the kitty 🤗 such a pretty kitty 😺
    Have a nice hump day!
    See you on Saturday 🙋🏽‍♀️
