  4. Hi – I just discovered your channel – totally love it. I can't believe you shot everything yourself. I have been experimenting with vegan chai myself lately, because I am a big chai drinker. I tried making with homemade cashew nut milk, almond milk, hemp and soy – but they all separated when I made chai. Nothing like cow's milk which has a very neutral taste as well. But I finally found an organic soy milk powder which I have to mix with water into milk first and that seemed to work. I have tried making with a store bought brand as well called bonsoy and it's ok but I want a more economical alternative. I make chai a little differently – I boil the loose tea leaves first with pounded cardamom, then raw sugar and then milk. Have you tried making chai with homemade almond milk? If so, what's the result?

  5. I am from India, and we are diehard fans of tea.
The way my mother taught me is slightly different than yours. I never mix water and milk together. I prefer to boil water with the tea leaves in it for 1-2 minutes so that water gets the complete essence of tea. Sometimes I add crushed cardamom as well, while the tea leaves are getting boiled, just one of it to add richness in the flavour.
Then I add milk with sugar or whatever one wants to have for sweetness. Only a minute's boiling is enough after adding milk, and it's done. 🙂
You just filter it in a cup and serve it. Awesome in rainy cold days.

  7. In India, this is how chai is made (commonly in the state of Punjab) :
    For 2 people :-

    1. Choose the tea cups you are serving in.
    2. Boil 1.5 cups (from cup i mean the cup chosen in 1.) of water.
    3. To the boiling water, add freshly powdered: 3 pods of cardamom, 1 clove, 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds.
Add 1/2 teaspoon of fresh ginger (crushed into a paste)
(Spices can be adjusted for preference and availability; sometimes no spice is used)
    4. Add desired amount of sugar, 2 teaspoon of tea (adjust to the desired strong-ness).
    5. Reduce heat to medium and simmer for at least 2-3 mins.
    6. Increase heat to high and add 1 cup (cup chosen in 1.) of milk.
    7. Boil the Chai like in the video. Simmer on medium for at least 2-3 mins and strain as in the video.

Enjoy the Chai by itself or with some plain biscuit.

  8. Greetings from America! I just made this (using normal milk though), and it was delicious! I am a huge tea drinker so I had a plethora of teas. However, I don't normally drink black teas, but after digging around enough I found an English breakfast, and chai wasn't hard to find at all. The only pot available to me was a large deep one, and I wasn't going to stand there for three to four minutes holding the tea bags up. So I proceeded to gut the bags and toss them in while the water was boiling. Waited for two minutes. Added the milk. Waited another minute. And then realized I do not own a strainer. So I found an old metal tea… thing? And found a narrow bottle. Worked pretty good, and then I realized it was unnecessary because my fancy mug did it for me. Other than the fact I had troubles finding things that would have made this way easier to make, the outcome kept me warm when I went to work in the rain. New favorite drink, and another excuse to say "screw you coffee!"

  9. I increased milk & water about 1/3 (accidentally poured too much) and used 4 chai tea bags ( I didn't have any black tea) and it was delicious. Like most chai drinkers I never boiled the milk and water together but I wanted to give it a try. It was good.

  12. Very nice.. definitely will try.
Being Indian tea is close to my heart
But this has lot of variation
    1) maple syrup
    2) soy milk
    3) black tea + Assam tea both r different in the way they are processed
    4) leaves rnt boiled
    Unique..

  13. This is the easiest video you ever made. 😂 Really? Did I just watch someone making tea using only tea bags?! Only you my friend…. only you.
