When the chocolate cravings hit, these rich double chocolate cookies always do the trick! This time, I swapped the chocolate chips for Halloween-colored M&Ms to give them a fun, festive flair. Not only are they delicious, but they freeze well too—making them perfect for any spooky celebration. Trust me, these cookies are always a hit!

Ingredients:
• 1 cup butter, softened
• 2/3 cup cocoa powder
• 3/4 tsp baking soda
• 1 1/2 cups white sugar
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 2 tsp vanilla extract
• 2 eggs
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 2 cups Halloween-colored milk chocolate M&Ms (or chocolate chips)
• 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
4. Stir in a bag of Halloween-colored M&Ms (or your choice of chocolate chips and walnuts, if using).
5. Use a large cookie scoop to drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Before baking, press a few extra M&Ms on top of each cookie to make them look extra festive.
6. Bake for 11 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow the cookies to cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
