Sheet Cake Hack | 6 Flavors Cake using One Batter in 1 Sheet Tray | Perfect Dessert Board Recipe
This is the best Sheet Cake Hack ever and you can use One batter to make so many variations, making it the Ultimate Plain Cake Hack. Now everyone can have a piece of their favourite cake with just one batter in 1 sheet tray. No extra work, no extra mess. This started as a solution for my kids who are poles apart. One wants plain vanilla and the other needs all the chocolate he can get. So while baking one day I had this idea & tried which to my surprise worked extremely well. With this, you can make multiple flavours easily. And my favourite part is the pieces which are a mix of 2-3 flavours, all in a single piece.
This is also particularly a perfect dessert board recipe for parties and holidays. Make all the flavours you want and cut them into small pieces, served on a beautiful dessert board. It can also be made ahead of time so a great holiday bake. Just store it in an airtight container for a couple days at room temp and a week in the fridge.
Cake Batter:
Wet:
– 170gm (3/4 cup) butter – softened
– 200gms (1 cup ) Sugar – small crystals
– 3 Large Eggs – Room Temperature
– 120ml (1/2 cup) Buttermilk or Sour Cream
– 1.5 tsp Vanilla
Dry:
– 200gm ( 1 2/3 cup minus 1.5tbsp) Flour
– 1 tsp Baking Powder
– 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
– 1/4 tsp Salt
For Coffee Cake:
– 1/2 cup Cake Batter
– 1 tbsp Walnuts/Pecans – chopped
– 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
– 2 tbsp Mini Chocolate Chips – could be replaced by more nuts of choice
– 1/8 tsp Cinnamon Powder – Skip if you don’t like it
– 1/2 tbsp cup Quick Rolled Oats – Optional
– 1/2 tsp Flour
For Double Chocolate
– 1 cup of Cake Batter
– 2-3 tbsp Cocoa Powder – Sieved
– 1-2tsp Milk – Only if Required
– 2-3 tbsp Chocolate chips + Extra for topping
For Marble Cake
– 1/4 cup of Chocolate Batter
– 1/4 cup of Vanilla Batter
For Red Velvet:
– 1/2 cup of Cake Batter
– 1/2 tsp Cocoa Powder
– Red Food Coloring – As required
– White Chocolate for topping – Optional
For Caramel Pecan Coffee Cake:
– 1/2 cup Cake Batter
– 1 tsp instant coffee dissolved in 1/2 tsp water – Use more or less depending on how intense you want the flavour to be
– 1-2 tbsp Chopped Pecans
– 1-2 tbsp Caramel Chips or piece
Note: For simple Butter Pecan Cake, just add the pecans. For Caramel Pecan Cake add caramel & pecans
For Lemon Poppy Butter Cake
– Rind of 1/3rd Lemon
– 1 tsp Poppy Seeds
