Sesame Wafer Cookies- with yoyomax12

These taste like the cookie version of the sesame snap candy. A nice crisp cookie with a great sesame flavour.

1/2 cup butter softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp milk
1 tsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup all purpose flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup toasted white sesame seeds (remove one tbsp and set aside)
1 cup pecan halves (optional)
1 tbsp (approx) black sesame seeds (optional).

Cream together the butter and the brown sugar.
Blend in the egg, milk and vanilla
Add in the flour, baking powder and baking powder and stir until combined.
Add in the 1/3 of a cup of toasted sesame seeds (with 1 tbsp removed after measuring the 1/3 cup).
Drop by teaspoonfuls on a cookie sheet covered with a silicone mat or parchment paper. Leave at least 2 inches between cookies as they spread a lot.
Sprinkle with additional reserved sesame seeds as well as some black sesame seeds (optional). Top with a pecan half if desired.
Bake at 375F for about 7 minutes or so until golden brown all over.
Allow to cool completely on cookie sheet before removing.
Store in covered container at room temperature.

Recipe found in a Company’s Coming Christmas cookbook by Jean Pare.
