Easy Magwinya/ Vetkoek recipe

This South African delicacy is a traditional fried dough bread and it’s super easy to make.
Perfect for anytime of the day.
Best served with tea.
Enjoy!

• 3 cups of flour
• 1 tablespoon of salt
• 2 teaspoons of sugar
• 1/2 a cup of warm water mixed with oil
• 1 teaspoon of yeast in a 1/4 cup of warm water
• 1/2 a cup of warm water to make the dough soft

Cover with cling wrap
After covering the bowl put it in a warm place or leave it outside in the sun.
Remove the cling wrap once the dough has doubled in size.
Apply some oil to your hands
Knead and shape the dough.
Cook it in hot oil till its golden brown

  1. I"ve never worked with yeast before. Are there more specific instructions with this recipe? Eg., what order to mix the ingredients, how to work w/the yeast, etc. TY!

  2. Looks delicious,but next time please make the ingredients part last a few more seconds because it passes fast and u can't really tell and lastly be specific as to what u mean by spoon tbsp or tsp
