How to make Homemade Fluffy Japanese Soufflé Pancakes – LIVE

    People stand in line for hours for these light and airy pancakes. They are super simple to make at home and a fun change from the traditional pancake breakfast.

    When my daughter and I visited NYC back in 2019 we spent a week enjoying museums, musicals, sightseeing, and of course FOOD! We actually went to the restaurant that served these pancakes twice because the first day we were there they weren’t doing pancakes! That will teach me to do more research before heading out for the day! Anyway, my daughter loved them and we’ve been experimenting ever since trying to get our own version right, and here it is.

    Japanese Souffle pancakes- makes 6
    2 egg yolks
    2 Tbsp sugar
    1 Tbsp whole
    ½ tsp vanilla
    ½ tsp salt
    6 Tbsp Cake Flour
    ½ tsp baking powder
    4 egg whites
    ¼ tsp cream of tartar
    3 Tbsp sugar
    In a large bowl whisk the egg yolks, sugar, milk, vanilla, and salt
    Sift the flour and baking powder into the bowl
    Mix again until smooth
    In another bowl beat the egg whites and cream of tartar until foamy
    Add the sugar while beating
    Keep beating until glossy stiff peaks form
    Add ¼ of the whites to the yolks and whisk
    Add another ¼ at a time folding into the batter, repeat until all the egg whites are incorporated
    Heat a skillet to medium-low heat (225), brush pan with butter
    Cut parchment rings and place in the heated skillet, pour batter into the molds about halfway up
    Add water to pan, and lid to steam
    Cook for 5 mins then carefully flip, and cook another 5 mins, adding water when you flip again
    Take off the parchment paper and serve with berries and or syrup

    4. Hi Ashley , I want to know when we add gelatin in the mousse because in some recipe there is no gelatin ,so I get confuse when we should add gelatin in mousse and when not
