Hey guys, what’s up! 👋 Today I’m heading over to my sister’s place on a little baking trip! We’re gonna bake some sweets together 🍰 (Sister collab time!) My sister works in design, and she recently designed a new cake stand. She said she wants to photograph it with a cute cake on top, so she asked me, “Can you make a cake for me?” 😂 So today, I’ll be baking at my sister’s place! But shortcake takes forever to make… so maybe I’ll go with something easy like a no-bake cheesecake. My sister doesn’t bake at all, so I doubt she even owns proper baking tools… like a scale, or a spatula, though I’m sure she has at least a whisk. Oh! I actually asked her yesterday. Ingredients are fine, I can buy them there. But as for tools… I texted like, “Do you have ___, ___, and ___?” and asked her, but… she never replied 😭 I sent her a LINE message around 8pm last night, and she still hasn’t answered. But I have to leave anyway… So I’ll just hope she at least has a spatula or something like that. I’m packing my hand mixer, a size 5 cake mold, and some piping bags—though I’m not sure I’ll need them. Just in case. And piping tips too. That should be enough! I’m just walking and taking the train today, so I don’t want to carry anything too heavy 😌 I’ll just bring the must-haves—things I can’t bake without! Let’s keep it light. It’s suddenly gotten so cold lately… I hate it 😩 Where did autumn even go? I feel like I’ve only enjoyed fall through food 😂 Alright, I think I’m ready! Let’s get changed and head out 🤎 (Time to start baking with my sister!) Me: Today we’re baking at my sister’s place! Me: We’re making cheesecake! 😋 Me: So apparently… Me: she designed this—right? Me: Designed?? Sister: Yup! Me: Yeah, she designed this stand. Me: She wants to take pictures with a cake on it, so that’s the cake we’re making today. Me: I get to keep it, right? 😏 Sister: Yeah! Sister: You can have it 😂 Me: It’s a sample piece apparently. Me: Anyway, let’s get baking! (Gonna give it my all today!) So today, by her request, we’re making a no-bake cheesecake. First, as always, we’ll start with the cookie base. And of course, I’m doing it with my sister! Sister: Isn’t this butter crazy? It just *exploded*! 😳 Me: Oh, it’s already melted. Sister: Not even close to 1 minute 30 seconds… Me: It’s fine, it’s fine. Me: Doesn’t need to be perfect 😆 Sister: It’s so hot! Now we’re crushing cookies for the base. Me: Alright! You can snack on this one. Sister: I already did 😂 (Looking for something to crush cookies with…) (My sister found a knife sharpener, and I’m trying it?!) Sister: That’s for knives— Me: Oh! A knife sharpener!? Sister: Yeah 😂 (She finds something else random) Me: There’s no way we’re using that! Me: You’d never use that for baking, right? 😂 Me: Maybe for a roll cake? Haha Sister: Haha! Sister: My super ugly pants are showing! Me: Don’t worry, everyone dresses sloppy 😂 Me: I usually film in wrinkled pajamas anyway lol Me: Haha Me: What even is this? 😂 Sister: That’s for sharpening knives 😆 Sister: Like this— Me: Seriously, she has zero baking tools! Me: Not even a kitchen scale! Me: So we’re baking by feel today 😅 Totally winging it. Me: Oh, do you have a spatula? Sister: Only this one. Me: That’s fine! Totally fine. Sister: I bought it just a few years ago 😂 I always assumed everyone had a kitchen scale… but now that I think about it, most people don’t use one for cooking. Definitely didn’t see that coming 😅 Me: Do you have granulated sugar? Sister: Nope 😨 Me: Oh no 😰 Me: This’ll work, it’s fine. Me: Brown sugar! Sister: This one’s beet sugar. Me: Hmm… maybe not that one. Sister: How about raw sugar? Me: Let’s go with that! Me: Maybe seven spoonfuls? Me: Or six if we want it a little less sweet. Sister: Six?! 😟 Me: Yeah! (We always get sidetracked chatting 😂) (Talking about sugar again…) Anyway, we’re moving on from the crust and starting on the cheesecake layer. Me: Next up—yogurt! Sister: Aye aye 🫡 Me: I’ve never seen a brown cheesecake before! Me: Looks cool! Sister: Three tablespoons? Me: Hmm, maybe two’s enough. Me: Do you have a whisk? Sister: What do you mean by whisk? 😅 Me: Not the electric “bzzz” one— Me: The manual one. Sister: Like, no power? Me: Yeah! Me: You have that one? Sister: I think so… maybe. She’s actually helping out so efficiently today, I really appreciate it. I feel kinda bad bossing her around though 😂 Me: Okay, the cheesecake mix is done— Me: it’s super brown though! 😅 Me: Looks like café mocha! Sister: Right? Looks tasty! Normally I blend heavy cream and whipped topping half and half. But since we don’t have gelatin today, I skipped the heavy cream to make it firmer and just used whipped topping. While my sister’s whipping the cream, I’ll go ahead and work on the crust. She actually sent me a photo like, “I want it to look like this!” so I’m trying to recreate it. As you can see, I need to build a cookie wall around the edge. To make it sturdier, I’m adding a bit more butter this time. Sister: Want me to help? Me: Yeah, can you hold the parchment paper for me? Me: Sorry, I might bump into you a bit. Sister: Ah—sorry! 💦 Sister: Wait, hang on— Me: By the way, Me: how do people usually build up the sides? Me: Think we can make it reach the edges? Sister: Maybe they just press it on later, like patch it up? Me: Yeah, maybe haha. Sister: How much should I add? Me: I’ll say “stop” when it’s enough. So while I work on the crust, she’s gonna make the blueberry cream filling. (Time to build our cookie wall!) Me: I’ll stack them up like this… Me: I hope this actually holds up 😅 After some struggling, it finally started to take shape! But I used quite a bit of butter, so it’s kind of pooling at the bottom. But you know, buttercream and tarts use way more, so it’s probably fine 😆 That’s what I’m telling myself anyway. Me: And here’s our cookie wall! 😅 Me: I’m gonna chill this in the freezer for a bit. Me: We ran out of cookies for the edge, so I’ll make another batch. (My sister’s washing the dishes 🥰) (Here we go for the second half!) Now I’m mixing the whipped cream she made with the cheesecake filling we made earlier. Since we’re not using gelatin, I had her whip the cream a bit firmer. Sister: If we have leftovers, we could put them in small cups! Me: Good idea! Then we can take them to work. Me: Or give them away— Me: Wait, do you even have anyone to give them to? Sister: Nope. Me: Thought so 😂 Me: Do we have something to press this down with? Me: Try pressing the base with that thing. Sister: Okay! Me: All good? Sister: Yup! She’s finishing the crust while I’m working on the cheesecake mixture. (This is teamwork ✨) Me: It’s looking really good! Sister: Using a sea salt jar lol Me: Haha! Me: Looks great! Me: Let’s chill it again! Me: For now— Sister: In the freezer? Me: Yeah, I just want it to set quickly. Me: We’ll chill it fast in the freezer, then add our cheesecake mix. Sister: The color’s so cute! Me: Right? It’s like— Me: not pure white, more like Me: an off-white tone. Now, using the blueberry cream she made earlier, I mixed in a little cheesecake filling to make a blueberry cheesecake layer. Maybe I could’ve added more blueberries, but I wanted to save some for the topping later. Me: Alright, looks good! All ready on my end! Once the creams are done, we’ll start with the blueberry layer in the mold. Then fill the rest of the space with the regular cheesecake filling. Me: Aw it’s so cute! Seriously adorable! Sister: The color’s so pretty. Me: Right? Sister: Like this? Me: Yeah, that’s perfect. Me: Let’s chill it! Sister: Okay! (Chilling for about 4 hours in the fridge) (Lunch break!) Sister: I hadn’t had a BIG Cup Noodle in ages, Sister: but it’s endless! 😂 Me: It really doesn’t go down lol (We always pick the mega-sized portions 😆) Me: What flavor is that? Sister: Chili tomato. Me: Chili tomato? Me: Can I have a bite? Sister: Sure! (Sibling classic: “Can I have a bite?” moment) Me: I always end up picking the plain flavor. Me: Like vanilla for ice cream— Me: Always the basic one 😂 (We have totally different taste in food 😅) Me: !!! Me: It’s so good! Sister: Right? It’s tasty! Me: But wow, that’s a lot 😂 (laughter) Sister: I’m actually not a fan of shortcake. Me: Really? I love it! Sister: I just don’t like whipped cream that much. Me: But doesn’t most cake have cream anyway? Sister: Shortcake though… honestly, Sister: strawberries are its only saving grace. Sister: It’s just too sweet otherwise. Me: That’s the best part though 😢 Me: But you like Mont Blanc, right? Me: That has quite a lot of whipped cream too, though. Sister: Really? Me: Yup! Sister: I even hate cream puffs that have whipped cream inside. Me: Oh, see, I *love* whipped cream. Me: I always pick the ones packed with cream. Sister: Same as Mom, right? Sister: Mom’s favorite is also shortcake. Sister: She loves cream-filled cream puffs too. (Story time: Why Mom’s homemade cakes never rose properly 🎂) Me: You know what I realized? Me: Mom used to bake while doing other chores, right? Me: Like taking care of us… Me: all the siblings… Me: Maybe that’s why it always took her so long? Me: When you take too long with meringue, Me: it starts to deflate, you know? Me: Maybe that’s why? Me: Did Mom even use a whisk? Me: Or a mixer? Me: A hand mixer! Sister: Yeah, she did! 😂 Me: Oh really? Haha. Me: She definitely had a recipe book too, right? Sister: Yeah, she did! And also, Sister: she always tried to “mix gently,” remember? Sister: She was careful about that. Me: Yeah, but those memories really stick, don’t they? Me: You barely remember store-bought cakes. Sister: True! 😂 Mom wasn’t exactly great at baking, but when I was in elementary school, she’d make us birthday cakes— one for each sibling, and she’d decorate them with characters! They were huge. We had four siblings total, and all of us were growing kids with big appetites. Store-bought cakes weren’t enough, and they were pricey too. So I think that’s why she baked them herself. Those birthday cakes she made— that’s all I really remember from childhood. Homemade sweets really leave an impression. Then, when I was in junior high, Mom kinda passed the torch to me, and I started baking the family birthday cakes instead. Me: You finished eating? Sister: Yup! Sister: All done. Me: Nice 😆 (Alright, back to baking time!) Me: The cheesecake has finished chilling! 🥳 Me: Let’s take it out of the mold. Me: Can we use a cup or something to lift it? Do you have one? Sister: Yeah! Me: Oh, this one works too. Sister: I feel like it’s gonna pop out and fly away 😂 Me: I know right 💦 (It’s super firm—this is hilarious lol) Sister: Oh! It’s coming out!! Me: Yesss!! It’s out!! Me: Come on, you got this! Let’s go! Sister: Yes! Yes yes!! 😳 Me: !! Me: Looks good! Looking great! Me: Let’s peel it off carefully. Me: Oh! Wait—! Sister: It’s so pretty! Me: It’s gorgeous 😍 Me: It turned out amazing! Sister: And now what? 😂 Me: Alright, it’s done! Me: Ahh, it looks perfect! Sister: It really does! Me: Okay, time to decorate! Sister: Okay okay!! Me: Let’s see my sister’s decorating skills 😏 Me: Show us what you’ve got! Sister: I don’t have any! 😂 (Today I’m just the supervisor 👀) Me: Looking good, looking good. Me: Niceee. Sister: Wait, isn’t it super cute? Me: It is! So cute! Me: I’m adding a little dill on top 🌿 Me: Should I like… Me: stick it in? Like this? Me: With the stem? Sister: Wait, want me to do it? Me: Like this maybe? Sister: The dill smells so good. Me: Right? Herbs smell amazing. Me: Rosemary smells really nice too. Me: I can’t really smell the thyme though. Me: But rosemary’s my favorite scent. Me: Okay! Looks perfect! Me: Yay, it’s done! 🥳 Me: It turned out so well ✨ Me: It’s exactly what we imagined! Sister: Totally perfect! Me: Just like we planned! 🥳 Me: Let’s take some photos! Sister: Yeah! (Photo time 📸) We finished the cake exactly as we wanted, and got lots of cute photos. Now it’s finally time to taste it together 🤎 I’ve been waiting for this moment! Me: Ta-da! Me: All sliced up! Me: Look at that cross-section 😍 Sister: So cute 🤎 Me: Adorable! Me: Looks amazing. Me: Perfect vibe ♩ Me: Let’s dig in! Me: The lighting’s a bit shadowy though… Me: !!! Me: It’s totally delicious with brown sugar! Sister: Really!? Me: Yeah! I never used brown sugar in desserts before, but it actually tastes amazing. It’s surprisingly good 😊 I might even like it more than granulated sugar. A sweet little discovery today 🤎 Sister: Yeah, it’s so good! Sister: These cookies are so chunky. Me: Yeah. Me: It’s like Wall Maria from Attack on Titan 😂 (lol) Me: It was actually tough to build these cookie walls. (She really loved it—I’m so glad ♡) Sister: It’s amazing! Me: And look, there’s still so much left. Sister: A total calorie bomb. Me: Yup, calorie bomb 😂 Before leaving, we played this cute little game together. We always end up playing something, somehow. Me: Whoa, nice! Nice!! Me: So cute~!! Me: It’s actually super cute 🤎 It’s like that wobbly balancing game, but in a *hamburger* version 🍔 You roll the dice, stack the ingredient of the color you roll, and if it falls, you lose! Simple as that 😂 It’s been so long since I played something like this, but it was sooo much fun! We’re both total homebodies, honestly, so when I visit her place, we usually play games, do puzzles, and just chat while hanging out indoors ☕💕 Sister: The placement of these pickles is actually… Sister: …pretty important, you know? Me: Ohhh here it comes~ 😏 Sister: Uh oh 💦 Sister: No way—seriously!? Me: It’s not supported by *anything*! 😂 (The match enters its final round…) Sister: Yaaay!! Me: Noooooooo!!! (I lost 💦) We baked together, ate lots of delicious sweets, and played games— it turned out to be such a wholesome day ☺︎ Baking with someone really is so much fun. Maybe I’ll do another “baking trip” to her place sometime. Next time, I’ll make sure to bring *all* my tools 😂 Today’s one of those rare weekends with zero plans, so I woke up at 10 a.m. 😅 If I don’t have plans, I could honestly sleep forever. So today, I’m gonna show you my recent obsession— clay pot rice (donabe gohan)! 🍚 (Let’s make some delicious rice!) First, I’m tossing in a bunch of mushrooms I had at home. My secret weapon for solo life: frozen chopped fried tofu! And finally, I’m adding a whole frozen salmon fillet. This one here— —it’s seriously so good 😋 If it’s still too frozen, the rice won’t cook evenly, so I make sure to defrost it properly first. Ta-da! My friend gave me this as a gift before— this super flavorful dashi (soup stock)! I’m adding it in ✨ Bring it to a boil on high heat first, then once it’s boiling, cover and lower it to the weakest flame. Now set a timer for 10 minutes ⏱ (Hope it turns out well ♩) While it’s cooking, I’ll make some tamagoyaki (rolled omelet) today. Usually on weekdays I just make the rice part, but I’ve got time today 😌 Lately I’ve been eating clay pot rice about three times a week, switching up the ingredients each time. Today I’m making my absolute favorite version ♡ (Perfect single-serving size ✨) (Seems like it’s ready ♩) Now I’ll turn off the heat and let it steam for another 10 minutes. The tamagoyaki turned out beautifully too ☺︎ (So jiggly~ ♡) Looks delicious! It’s a little chilly today, so I’ll also make some miso soup. When I have no ingredients left at home, I just use this instant miso mix ( ̄▽ ̄) It’s been getting colder lately, so I drink miso soup twice a day now. Okay, done! All done, all done! Open~ It looks sooo good 🤤 Just remove the salmon bones, then mix it up. Maybe added a bit too much water? 😅 Ta-da! My hometown-tax salmon roe ✨ Now just sprinkle the ikura on top— lightly, like this… So luxurious 😭✨ All thanks to the hometown tax program… lol Wow! It looks amazing!! Finally, top it with some shiso leaves 🍃 That adds such a nice flavor ☺︎ Ta-da! All done 🥳 Let’s eat! You really have to eat it while it’s warm— that’s the best part. Looks so good ✨ So good!! So… on my balcony, two HUGE spiders have moved in 🕷🕷 Isn’t that the worst!? 😂 It’s not like I never go outside— I hang my laundry out there all the time! But somehow two massive spiders built webs there anyway 😭 Like… the *entire* balcony! The web is *huge*! It’s honestly twice my height, I swear. What do I even do!? I mean, sure, it keeps other bugs away, but… I just *can’t*. Nope. 😂 Now I can’t even hang laundry outside anymore 💦 (*cries in fear of spiders*) Living alone is super fun, but… the only problem is… bugs. When a bug shows up, you have to fight it *alone* 😭 That’s honestly the only downside of living solo. I moved into this apartment right after I graduated, so it’s been like a year and a half? Yeah, around that long. But recently, I’ve been seeing more and more bugs 😭 The other day, I was hanging laundry on the balcony, and when I brought it in to fold it— *plop!* A stink bug fell out!! 😭💦 I literally cannot deal with that. And it wasn’t even green— it was this weird brown one with strange markings 😭 I took it down with an ice-cold roach spray 💪 I can’t even imagine if I didn’t have that… Terrifying. Absolutely terrifying. (I immediately bought two backup cans afterwards 😂) That was delicious~ ごちそうさま! So satisfying (..) After eating, I updated my dessert notebook for the first time in a while ✏️ Today’s topic: fresh cream & whipped topping! I usually blend the two together when I make sweets—about half and half. But depending on the dessert, I adjust the ratio a little. Each one has its own flavor and texture balance. They’re totally different in richness, stability, and ingredients. Fresh cream has fewer additives and richer flavor, but it can get runny faster. So you have to think about that. I always keep that balance in mind whenever I’m baking something. And I thought it’d be nice to share that with you too ♡ So I finally wrote it all down! All done~! Looks good ☺︎ Feels nice to finally update this again! It’s fun to paste in photos of my own sweets too 🍰 Recently I’ve bought a few cute things, so I wanted to show you guys 🥳 This little Lovabubu joined my room recently 💕 I just wanted to keep one for memory’s sake. I was hoping for these two colors, but the pink one came instead! Or maybe… not pink? More like raspberry? And then… Ta-da! I got a brand new Instax camera! 🥳 It’s so cute 😍 I’m gonna use it to take polaroids of my sweets and decorate my room with them ☺︎ Can’t wait 🤎 Should’ve bought it way sooner! The film’s kinda pricey though, so I can’t really take too many shots— every photo has to be *the* perfect one 😂 And right next to it here— Shaun the Sheep 🤎 Isn’t he adorable? He’s also a new addition to the family 🥰 It’s getting cold, so make sure to stay warm, okay? 🐑 (New member introductions—complete! 🎉) From late September through October, I was *constantly* baking sweets 😂 And the scary part? I even baked off-camera sometimes 😭 Like—where do I even find the time!? This week’s been a rare chill one, though—finally! In November, I’m definitely planning to do a *character dessert* video 👀 I might put up a poll on Instagram again, so please vote when you see it! Some popular requests I’ve gotten are— Animal Crossing, SpongeBob, Tamagotchi, Anpanman, and Kirby—those kinds of cute ones 💕 Also, I really wanna bake bread again! ※レアチーズケーキは分量を量らずに作成したのでレシピは記録してません💦

🍁鮭ときのこの炊き込みご飯🍁
(1合分)
ーーー材料ーーー
米 1合
水 110ml
鮭(生または塩鮭) 1本
スライスしいたけ
えのき
刻み揚げ
醤油 大さじ1
酒 大さじ2
みりん 大さじ2
だし適量
ーーー作り方ーーー
① 米を研ぎ、30分~1時間ほど浸水させてからザルにあげて水を切る。
② 炊飯釜に米を入れ、醤油・酒・みりん・だし・水を加える。
③ 具材(鮭・しいたけ・えのき・刻み揚げ等)を上にのせる(混ぜずにそのまま)。
④強火で加熱し沸騰したら火を一番弱くして12分炊く
(米の分量によって加熱時間は変えてます。1/2合⇒10分、2合⇒14分)
⑤火を止め、蓋をしたまま10分蒸す
⑥炊き上がったら鮭の骨を取り、全体を軽く混ぜ合わせる。
⑧ お好みで刻みねぎや白ごまをのせて完成✨
塩鮭を使っているので場合は醤油を少し控えめにしてます

クリスマスにスポンジケーキ作ったりするけど薄力粉、砂糖、水をはかれる計量カップだけで計量器使わないから計量器持ってる人少ないと思ってるけどどうなんだろ。
クッキーとかもブラウニーとかパウンドケーキもその計量カップでいけるし。
お菓子作りは計量命みたいの聞くけど失敗するのはそれのせいかな。
でも油だけ減らさずちゃんと入れるようにしたら解決したりするけど多分計量器必要なほどのものを作ってないんだろうなー。
自分も虫が無理で、だから1人暮らしだけは絶対したくないって実家住みですww
