Spruce Tip Syrup
4 Cups of Brown Sugar
4 Cups of Spruce Tips
Place clean, dry spruce tips in a 1-inch layer in a sterilized mason jar. Add a decent layer of brown sugar. Continue this pattern until the top layer. Add a thick layer of brown sugar on top to make sure all spruce tips are under the sugar. Leave about 1-2 inches of headspace. Place in a cool, dark location with a lid. Burp every few days to relieve pressure. Let sit for 3-6 weeks. Test for desired flavor. Strain spruce tips and store syrup in fridge.
Spruce Tip Salt
Use equal parts salt and spruce tips.
Pulse in a food processer until spruce tips are blended in. Dry in the oven at 150-170 degrees F (most ovens don’t go this low – but if yours does, this method works) or dry in a dehydrator at 90-115 degrees F for 6-8 hours. Once salt is completely dry, pulse again in a food processor or stir to mix. Store in a clean glass jar.
Alternatively, you can dry on covered trays, stirring daily.
Spruce Tip Vinegar
Fill a jar 1/2 – 2/3 of the way up with clean spruce tips. Fill the jar with your preferred vinegar. Close with a lid and store in a cool, dark place for 2-6 weeks. Test for desired flavor and strain spruce tips.
*If using as a household cleaner – dilute by 50% with water after straining.

The knowledge and skills you guys have is truly amazing. Your time spent on food preperation, its compexities and development from some very wild and basic sources just beggars belief. As for gardening you are way out of my league. I guess that is the reality of living where you do. Learn quick or fail! Thank you for the Information and details you give us whilst grafting away.

Another great episode! I learn so much from you guys! Thanks for sharing!
Great video
Chris the top part of the tree you trim off do you use them in lowercase projects? Eg goat shed or other things xx😊😊😊😊😊
An important tip with regard to the wood – I saw some barks or remnant of barks peeled off from the lumber that you mulled – It is advisable to remove the barks, else the moisture in the barks will lead to mold formation and make it unfit for use.
Thank you for an amazing video. We have mostly oak trees but it is fascinating to learn all the things you can do with these unfamiliar trees ❤
Які ви молодці!!!
Plz dont forget to hype this video! Another awesome video ❤

4:51 I had about 30% success on the blue lakes this year. Very disappointing
I never pre sook my beans because they rot so easy, I always sow them in pots with as little water as possible, and still then I lose some to rot. Golden climbing beans are very nice, in Flemish, we call them ’boterbonen’ = butter beans
I'm surprised by the amount of cream you get on your milk. Are the smaller breed goats like Jersey cows with more butterfat? We had larger goats and would barely get a quarter inch of cream per gallon. I wasn't able to make butter until we switched to cows. We had dairy goats in the 1970's.
Be careful sweetie you're starting to gain a couple pounds
Never wanted to live in the country so bad in my life, looks so quiet and relaxing, love your goats running around😅….hows the tick situation there, do you have to check your pups regularly? Thank you for another great video
