After years of trying, I finally made the katsu curry I’ve always wanted 🍛✨

Whether I made it from spices or mixed different curry roux together, my homemade curry somehow never made it past ☆4.
But this time, it finally earned ☆5
Premium Golden Curry really did the trick ^ ^
That said, I think my curry experiments will continue.

What kind of curry do you like?
If you have any favorites or recommendations, I’d love to hear them.

Lately, I’ve also been drawn into the world of Chiikawa, while enjoying my days cooking whatever I’m craving and experimenting in the kitchen.

I hope you’ll enjoy spending another relaxing time with me.
Thank you, as always, for watching 💓

    ※ DAY 4 appears twice 😂🙇‍♀️

    🍛 Katsu Curry 〔島二郎風カツカレー〕

    【Curry】
    ・2–3 onions (about 400–500 g)
    ・2 potatoes
    ・1 carrot
    ・10 g beef fat
    ・15 g butter
    ・1 tbsp grated garlic
    ・1 tbsp grated ginger
    ・875 ml water
    ・125 ml carrot juice
・1 box S&B Premium Golden Curry (Medium Hot)
    ・5 g dark chocolate

    ◻︎Point
Slowly cook the onions in a heavy-bottomed pot, such as a Staub, until deeply caramelized.
Beef fat, carrot juice, and a little dark chocolate add extra richness and depth.

    【Tonkatsu】
    ・Thick-cut pork loin, as needed
    ・Salt and pepper, to taste
    ・Flour, as needed
    ・Fresh breadcrumbs, as needed
    ・Oil, for deep-frying

    【Batter】
    ・1 egg
    ・2 tbsp water
    ・4 tbsp flour
    ・1 tsp oil

    ◻︎Point
Fresh breadcrumbs make the tonkatsu extra crispy.

※I’m still experimenting with making the perfect fresh breadcrumbs 🍞
