Easy AND allergy-friendly Hot Fudge Sundae Cupcakes!

Put others in awe as you reveal these cupcakes (dairy-free and gluten-free) at your next party or Holiday celebration. Your guests will never know that the base of these cupcakes came from a boxed cake mix🤯🤫. Yes, you read that right…a boxed cake mix…AND it’s something to be excited about!

With food allergies, finding easy, go-to foods and desserts can be very tricky and often feel endless. But let me assure you, the King Arthur Gluten Free Boxed Chocolate Cake Mix , is simply delicious (and oh so easy to make).

Sidenote: Did you know you can use cake mixes to make cupcakes as well? That’s right! Your cake selections can expand to be cupcakes as well! The possibilities are ENDLESS!

HOT FUDGE SUNDAE CUPCAKES – GLUTEN-FREE and DAIRY-FREE

INGREDIENTS:

2/3 Cup Crisco Canola/Vegetable Oil find it here 👉 https://amzn.to/4d4sP77
1 1/3 Cups Water
4 Large Eggs
1 Container Duncan Hines Creamy White Frosting find it here 👉 https://amzn.to/4e4MchD

12 Maraschino Cherries

RECIPE:
1) Preheat the oven to 350 degrees (note: stove temp may vary from stove to stove)

2) Locate 2 muffin tins, line them with cupcake liners and set aside.

3) Make the King Arthur GF Chocolate Cake Mix as directed on the package.

4) Spoon the cake batter into 24 cupcake liners you prepared in step 2

5) Bake as directed on the cake mix box

6) Allow cupcakes to cool completely, before decorating. If you try to decorate the cupcakes while they are hot, your frosting will run and melt.

7) For the “ice cream” look, you’ll want to put your frosting in the fridge until the desired consistency is reached.

8) Fill frosting bag with the white frosting (NO DAIRY, NO GLUTEN!). I like to use Wilton’s decorating bags. If you don’t have a piping bag, you could also use a spring loaded ice cream scoop to get an amazing “scooped” look!

9) After the cupcakes have all cooled and been frosted, it’s time for the “hot fudge”. To keep these dairy free, be sure to purchase EnjoyLife Allergy Friendly mini chocolate chips. Melt the chocolate in a microwave safe dish for 1 min, stir and continue heating in 20 second increments until the chocolate is smooth and lump free.

10) As you prepare to decorate with the melted chocolate, please note, you will have to work FAST! The melted chocolate can harden quickly and you need it in more of a liquid format to achieve the desired drizzled chocolate look. Carefully take a spoonful of the melted chocolate and begin to drizzle on each of the frosting decorated cupcakes.

11) Add a gluten and dairy free cherry and/or sprinkles if you choose.

12) Allow chocolate to harden on the cupcakes before serving!
