Today I’m sharing with you a few recipes I love that also happen to be great for the immune system. And I’ll give you a few reasons why it’s so important to keep our immune system active- especially during a pandemic,in this case, the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus đ€Šââïž
đ We need our bodies to be up and running at full capacity, ready to work for us during this time. And we don’t want to get up every morning feeling sluggish and foggy-headed. We want to wake up feeling refreshed and motivated to make the most of the day- even when stuck at home.
â
We want to have a clear, sharp mind, feel vibrant and awake.
â
Now more than ever, our bodies need all the help we can give. We want our immune system to be strong, to have the energy do its job, to be ready for battle.
â
We want to be able to recover as quickly as possible. Our bodies need to have the right nutrients available so they can repair and heal.
I’ve always been a big advocate for healthy eating, especially as a dancer, an athlete, I need my body to be strong and reactive to avoid injury.
So, without further ado, here are some of my favorite recipes. Bear in mind, this is an example of any random day for me. These aren’t “every single day” meals. This is just what I ate on this day during a pandemic.
I’ve never been a big breakfast person, but I do love to have my morning coffee and some warm lemon water before I workout. I love smoothies! So I usually have one after my morning workout. This one is great in the morning, and if you’re working out, add a spoonful of vegan proteins to help muscles repair. Muscle fibers need protein to rebuild and strengthen.
đč Smoothie:
Bananas- good for post-workout recovery, lots of electrolytes to replenish tired muscles
Avacado- nutrient-dense brain food!
Oat Milk- I love it, and I don’t eat dairy, so I love this alternative.
Blueberries & Acai Berry- packed with antioxidants, Vit A, K, Potassium, and Iron
I usually prefer a light lunch, I like to stay cognitively alert and energized, not too full and tired. UNLESS I’m working out like crazy. Then, I usually have a big lunch. But, stuck at home, I had a hearty salad- and I don’t mean rabbit food!
đ„ Lunch:
Spinach- Vit A, K, C, Iron, Fiber- like Popeye!
Red carrots- anti-inflammatory, antioxidants, good to help achy joints
Tofu- remember, everything in moderation, protein included, balance is key
Chia Seeds & Pumpkin Seeds- love them both, Omega fatty-acids, good for the heart, and omegas are brain food!
Fresh-squeezed lemon- good for gut and immune system
Balsamic vinegar- I love it! Husband? Not so much. But I love the flavor, and it’s good for digestion.
A spoonful of Olive Oil & a pinch of salt for flavor.
We don’t want to go to bed too full and uncomfortable, we want to digest our dinner easily so we can get a restful sleep.
đ„ Dinner: A heart-warming Potato Mash, with a twist!
Sweet Potatoes- fiber, carbs, good for gut health
Oat Milk & a pinch of salt- to give a creamy texture and add flavor
Steamed Veggies- steaming locks in nutrients, save the water you cooked with and add it to the potato blend (yummy!)
Thinly sliced onions- slightly browned in a spoonful of olive oil
Mushrooms- fiber, B vitamins, antioxidants, Vit C, add to pan with onions
Spinach- add to the pan with onions and mushrooms
Vegetable stock cube- adds flavor, add to pan with veggies
There are so many delicious recipes to choose from, countless combinations of foods that boost the immune system- this is just one of them.

I canât really eat much junk food anyway, since Iâm allergic to soy and itâs in most junk food and especially fast food. Though it makes it hard to go vegan (still eat yogurt and sometimes fat free frozen yogurt) cause if you hate nuts thereâs not much sources left for protein and the only protein I get now is whole grains and fat free Greek yogurt.
Dear your video are Amazon especially thai last one! Sorry But
you eat very few…and are you vegan?
Sorry amazing tour video
I think that for a dancer animal protein are important! I eat only fish one Time a week 3 eggs a week and the test tofu, tempeh and legumes but when i was tptaly vegan i was sick and exostied…now with a little portion of fish and eggs i feel strong and my brain now is healthy!.
Do you snack? Since you workout and dance so much, these meals look very small… Especially breakfast and dinner
I can't eat like that…đautoimmune stuff …the oxalates lectins…I'm doing better on carnivore…check out dr Paul Saladino interview sally norton…you got a great channel…love your vibes and challenging myself…everyday with your routines…thank you so much!đ

Eating this way has made such a positive difference to my overall health and my skin is actually glowing! Had bloodwork done to make sure this was safe and my doctor asked me what I had been doing because my bloodwork came back "immaculate"! Seriously, I never thought I'd hear that from a doctor. I'm also in menopause and it totally helped eliminate insomnia and hot flashes. Thanks Alessia, you're amazing!
MY MOM'S ALLERGIC TO BANANAS. THANKS A LOT đ€đ
(i'm just joking lol i love your videos)
Thank you for your videos. I love the way you instruct! You are so fun and funny and passionate. No matter how unmotivated I am, I can still get moving with your exercise videos. I hope you keep informing and encouraging us to move, eat healthy, and appreciate life!
As a fellow primate, I support the vegan diet. Our cousins donât make meat a central focus of their diet, neither should we. We run better on plants. Even if not 100%, the more plants, the better.
Lovely food! So colorful and healthy.
Your meals are so colourful. This was a great video, please do another one like this! đ
It is wonderful to find out that a beautiful, vital lady and talented dancer whom one admires, is also eating vegan! Not only is it a relief to not hear an "animal lover" talk ablut preparing and eating dead animal flesh, but it is proof to naysayers that a vegan diet can more than adequately fuel an athlete's life. So glad I watched this; thank you, Alessa.
